Huddersfield’s Zoe Lucker set for EastEnders role

Zoe Lucker

ZOE Lucker is set to join EastEnders.

The Huddersfield actress, 35, will play cheating Max Branning’s new love interest in the BBC soap.

Playing a businesswoman called Vanessa, she will start filming in May and appear on episodes from the summer.

Zoe, who grew up in Lindley and attended Huddersfield New College in Salendine Nook, said: “I’m a huge fan of the show and I am really looking forward to working closely with Jake (Wood, who plays Branning).

“I’ve heard fantastic things through the show so I can’t wait to get started.”

The new role follows hot on the heels of Zoe’s appearance on BBC1 show Strictly Come Dancing last year.

But it will be her first major acting job since 2008, when she played Kate Keenan in BBC drama Holby Blue.

Before that, she shot to fame in 2002 as superbitch Tanya Turner in Footballers’ Wives.

She has also starred in women’s prison drama Bad Girls.
