Get me to the churn on time! Brockholes bride to get ‘hitched’ on a tractor - picture

FORGET the horse and carriage.

One Huddersfield bride-to-be will arrive at her church wedding on a trailer pulled by a tractor.

Anna Woodall chose the less- than-ordinary mode of transport after enjoying years of restoring vintage tractors with her dad, Alan.

The father and daughter have found a shared hobby working on the farm machines in the family’s Brockholes garden.

Anna told the Examiner: “There’s a photo of me and dad working on the tractors and I’m only about three.

“I can’t have been much help back then but we’ve carried on doing it together over the years.

“Dad is quite the collector. He used part of our garden to set up a tractor shed – I don’t think mum was best pleased.”

Anna, who is set to wed long-term partner Rob Ellis, said she couldn’t think of anything more apt to take her and her dad to Brockholes Methodist Church on the big day next month.

The tractor they have chosen to pull the trailer is an antique blue 1962 Fordston Super Major.

The 28-year-old said: “It’s very reliable so it won’t break down.

“Its top speed is probably about 25mph but we won’t be going that fast because I’ll have a big dress on I don’t want to spoil.”
