Crosland Moor bus driver Lloyd Cudjoe retires after 45 years
Crosland Moor bus driver steps down a gear after 45 years
RETIREMENT is just the ticket for one Huddersfield man who has been a bus driver for over 45 years.
Lloyd Cudjoe, from Crosland Moor, first got behind the wheel of the town’s trolley buses back in the 60s.
Since then he’s been a regular driver on First Group bus routes around Lindley and Dalton and more recently Meltham.
The 66-year-old told the Examiner: “I used to drive the trolley buses until 1968 which were very different to the buses now.
“They were electric so there were no gears on them – it was just steering and braking.
“These days there is much more traffic in Huddersfield – it’s so busy on the roads.
“There never used to be a ring road when I started driving the buses.”
