THE Galpharm Stadium is enjoying a colourful facelift.
The striking new images of the stadium were created by local artist and photographer Ali White.
The reception area had featured action shots of the clubs but these were starting to look dated.
Wanting to give the place a more contemporary feel, managing director Ralph Rimmer asked reception staff to source something special that represented the goings on in the stadium.
The creative task was taken on by die hard Huddersfield Town fan Ali.
The Paddock artist has also had work commissioned for other local venues including The Head of Steam, Lawrence Batley Theatre and The Verve. He spent several weeks taking nearly 1,000 photographs, then juxtaposed them into iconic images depicting the many aspects of the stadium.
Ali said: “As a fan it was wonderful to be given access to everything that goes on behind the scenes.
“What I tried to do was capture the contrast between the drama, the passion, the intensity and the ordinary and quite mundane that go into making it happen.
“It is basically digital photomontage involving digitally ‘cutting up’ the many hundreds of photographs.”
Staff including head receptionist Linda Myers worked with Ali. Ralph said: “They have done a magnificent job – it is very clever and very striking.”
