TUES PM: Two jailed for 30 years each for Clayton West layby contract killing

Christopher Hartley

TWO men convicted of murdering a man on the outskirts of Clayton West have been jailed for at least 30 years.

David Large and Simon Mullen were handed the sentences at Bradford Crown Court today, an hour after being convicted of murdering Christopher Hartley.

Mr Hartley, pictured,  was gunned down in lonely Litherop Lane last September.

The court had been told he was a former gay lover of David Large and that Mullen had been hired as a "hitman" because Large wanted a relationship with a woman.

The judge said their actions had been "calculated and cold-blooded".
