Huddersfield Giants relieved after rape investigation is dropped

GIANTS officials today told of their “frustration” at the long delays in clearing players of sex allegations.
They were concerned that the club had to wait four months before six players accused of rape were exonerated.
None of the six Huddersfield players will be charged.
Giants managing director Richard Thewlis welcomed the news.
But he also said the four-month wait had been frustrating.
He said: “This was the outcome that our own investigation indicated would be the case and, while there was a degree of frustration on our part about the time taken to get to this position, we and our players recognise the authorities have to follow processes, which we complied with every step of the way, and that these matters take time to conclude.”
Mr Thewlis added that the club was now glad to put the matter behind them.
