Ravensthorpe waste site fire inquiry continues

WORK at a waste site hit by a month-long fire remains suspended.
The blaze at the Forge Waste Transfer site between Ravensthorpe and Dewsbury started in February and was finally put out in March.
The Environment Agency, which found more than twice the allowed amount of rubbish on the Ravenswharf Road site, suspended owner Roy Hinchcliffe’s operating permit while an investigation took place.
A spokeswoman said: “The formal investigation into management of the site is ongoing.
“We are still working with Mr Hinchcliffe with a view to bringing the site back into compliance with the permit.”
