May 20 2010 by Sam Casey, Huddersfield Daily Examiner
CAR owners in Birkby have been urged to beware after 10 break-ins in one night.
Overnight on Monday into Tuesday, four vehicles were targeted on Norwood Road and two on Arnold Avenue.
There were also incidents on Tanfield Road, Blacker Road North, Armitage Road and Norman Road.
Items stolen included a CD player, glasses and a hands-free phone kit.
Det Con Russ Conlon said: “The concentration of these incidents in a small area suggests they have been carried out by the same people.”
There were further incidents during the day on Tuesday in Deighton. Two cars were broken into at the Deighton Centre on Deighton Road. A CD player and sat-nav charger were taken.
Another car was targeted on Browning Road.
