FIFTEEN schools have been affected by the fire at Grosvenor Chemicals.

The blaze at the Linthwaite plant, which started just after 1am at Lees Mill Lane, created a cloud of chemicals which has drifted across south Huddersfield.

The authorities are recommending people in the affected area to stay indoors and also alos recommending people to keep doors and windows closed.

Castle Hill and Longley special schools will both be closed all day, as will Nields Junior, Infant and Nursery, Linthwaite Ardron CE J and I and
Linthwaite Clough J I and Early Years Unit


The following schools may open to pupils later than usual, mostly hoping to open from 11am.
