NEIGHBOURS of Nathan Brown were evacuated as his Sydney property burned to the ground.
Reports from Sydney have now revealed 20 firefighters spent more than three hours battling the blaze at the Huddersfield Giants coach’s Dolans Bay home.
Brown’s wife Tanya and three children were not at home when the fire began on the evening of Sunday May 23.
Eight fire trucks and a fire boat were called to the Gannons Road property, but it could not be saved.
Police ordered neighbouring homes to be evacuated amid fears they would also catch fire, but none were damaged.
It is thought the fire was started by an electrical fault.
Witness Kim Toolin said the blaze at the former St George Dragons coach was hard to watch.
