LEGAL secretary Louise Penson has been recognised for 30 years’ service at a Huddersfield law firm.

Mrs Penson, who was born in Galashiels, Scotland, began her career working for an accountancy firm in Edinburgh before a move to London. She later worked for legal offices in Vancouver, Canada, before settling in Huddersfield.

Mrs Penson, who lives at Marsh, started working at Armitage Sykes solicitors in 1980 – since when she has seen two company mergers and has pushed forward the use of technology in the firm.

Martin Thompson, partner at the New North Road firm, presented her with a gold watch to mark her 30 years service.

He said: “Louise is a fantastic legal secretary. No two days in a legal practice are the same and Louise makes managing the demands look easy”.
