A BIRKBY man has been ordered to have his dog destroyed after it bit a schoolboy.
Elliott Fisher, 19, of Sufton Street, admitted being in control of a dangerous dog.
Leeds Crown Court heard how his pit bull-type dog left four puncture marks on the thigh of a 15-year-old during an incident in Ravensthorpe.
Sohail Khan, prosecuting, told the court how the victim was returning from a gym with friends when they saw another group.
After some conversation, more men joined the other group.
One of them punched the schoolboy and has already been prosecuted for the assault.
As the teenager got to his feet, the dog – on a leash held by Fisher – grabbed his thigh.
Judge Kerry Macgill ordered its destruction and imposed an 18 month supervision order on Fisher with conditions for him to attend an enhanced thinking skills programme.
