COMPLAINTS about Kirklees Council’s Freedom of Information service are among the lowest in West Yorkshire, figures have revealed.
Statistics released by the Information Commissioner’s Office, the governing body overseeing the legislation, reveal it has received just 17 complaints from members of the public about Freedom of Information requests to Kirklees Council since the legislation was launched in January 2005.
In the same period Leeds City Council has received 51 complaints, Bradford Council 40, Wakefield Council 22 and Calderdale Council just seven.
