Court hears of Facebook ordeal for Huddersfield teenage sex victims

YOUNG girl victims of a teenage sex attacker were distraught last night – after being “named” on Facebook.
A post on the social networking site listed the Huddersfield girls’ names – and referred to them as “little slags”.
Police were called in to investigate last night as families of the victims expressed their horror.
They were even more angry as the 16-year-old attacker who sexually abused their daughters was granted anonymity.
A judge refused to lift an order banning his identification.
The boy, who was sentenced to three years’ detention early yesterday afternoon, had originally been charged with rape.
But he admitted lesser offences of sexual activity with a child, a plea which was accepted by the prosecution to prevent the girls having to give evidence.
The teenager had sex with four of the girls – one of whom had celebrated her 13th birthday three weeks earlier – and threatened to harm them if they told anyone.
One of the girls was told she would be stabbed if she talked.
