Huddersfield criminals are being named and shamed in a virtual dock

Insp Forrest added: "This is a public- facing force website where there is the opportunity to place images and details of offenders and offences in the public domain which have attracted Crown Court sentences of three years or more.

"The site should assist in encouraging victims and witnesses to engage with the Criminal Justice System and ensure that more people are aware of some of the really positive outcomes at Crown Court, including the victims."

Louise Casey is the Victim’s Commissioner who aims to get the best for victims of crime.

Following a successful pilot in Wakefield, West Yorkshire Police and Crown Prosecution Service West Yorkshire are extending the initiative with the aim of boosting confidence in criminal justice aspects of the law.
