‘Spectacular’ fountain after water pipe bursts in Crosland Moor
A FOUNTAIN of water as high as a house brought a spectacular scene to Crosland Moor.
The torrent spurted from the pavement yesterday after a water pipe burst open.
A spokesman for Yorkshire Water said the stop tap on an underground water pipe had blown off, causing the dramatic display on Park Road West in Crosland Moor.
Some residents’ water supplies were cut off as the company tackled the problem.
Meanwhile nearby houses and passing cars were drenched in the spray.
