TIME is running out for manufacturers to claim rate relief.
Small firms experiencing financial problems have until 4pm on Friday October 8 to apply for the tax break.
The Kirklees Council programme is open to companies which employ between five and 49 people.
Kirklees gave larger manufacturers rate relief of £730,000 in a similar scheme last year.
The council’s Cabinet member for regeneration Clr Peter McBride said: “We launched the Rate Relief Initiative last year to help larger manufacturing businesses deal with the effects of the recession.
“I am really pleased that we are able to offer further funding that will help smaller manufacturing businesses in Kirklees
“Manufacturing businesses employ around 20% of the workforce in Kirklees and many have been hit hard by the effects of the recession.”
