Huge wall collapses into Huddersfield backyard
A HOMEOWNER is clearing up after a huge wall collapsed into her small backyard.
The 12ft high wall at Dalton Bank Road in Colnebridge fell suddenly following heavy rain.
Phillipa Wilson’s backyard is now full of rubble following the incident.
“I was mortified when I saw what had happened,” she said.
The 36-year-old clinical nurse trainer was asleep when the wall gave way in the early hours of Monday.
“I didn’t hear it but apparently it sounded like thunder,” she said. “One of my neighbours came round to wake me up and show me what had happened.
“I’m just thankful it happened at night so no-one was underneath it at the time.”
A 20ft section of the wall collapsed into the backyard of Mrs Wilson and her next-door neighbour.
