THEIR singing talents are renowned throughout music circles.
But now members of Colne Valley Male Voice Choir are set to become recognised in homes all over the country after starring in a new television advert.
The Slaithwaite-based group was asked to appear in the new Christmas campaign for Sainsbury’s fronted by celebrity chef Jamie Oliver.
Fifty members were bused up to the Yorkshire Dales village of Halton Gill, in Skipton, for the festive-themed filming on Thursday.
The village was covered with artificial snow and twinkly lights to transform it into a winter wonderland for the outdoor shoot.
The choir was approached by a top casting company to take part just days ago and were delighted with the opportunity.
John Lees, the group’s vice-chairman, said: “We are one of the foremost male voice choirs in the UK and have made a few discs so it wasn’t really a surprise to get asked but we were glad to be able to help.
