WORSHIPPERS got creative at a Huddersfield church at the weekend.

Singers, dancers and actors took to the stage at the Elim Pentecostal Church on St John’s Road for the first-ever Celebration of Creativity on Saturday.

Organiser Claire Jones said: “It went really well, we had several hundred people through the doors.

“The event was a way to celebrate the creativity which God has given us and encourage artists within the church. We also wanted to open up the church to the community.”

Performers included the church’s gospel choir and theatre group as well as hip-hop act Knew Jeru’slum.

There were also demonstrations of felting, calligraphy and crocheting at the church, which is known as the Grace Centre.
