Entrepreneur Becky Ashwell faces TV quiz challenge on The Weakest Link

“Then when we got back from a family holiday there was a letter waiting from the BBC asking me to be on the show.”

In August Becky travelled up to a studios in Glasgow to spend the day filming the episode.

She said: “I was quite nervous the night before we did the filming but once I got into the studios and I saw my name on the podium I relaxed into it and really enjoyed myself.

“With my business I’m used to dealing with a room full of people I’ve never met before so I think that helped my confidence.

“I felt I would do ok with the questions because I read about so many different subjects with work – but answering the questions with my girls cuddled up next to me at home is very different to being in the studio with Anne for real!”

Becky, who will be watching her television debut with her girls and husband Mark, can’t say how well she did on the show.

But she did reveal that Anne wasn’t as harsh on her as she had expected.

She said: “She’s not that bad really. She never breaks her character when she’s in the studio and I have so much respect for how professional she is.

“She questioned me a little bit about my job but I was expecting her to be a lot worse – I recently took up tap dancing and I thought she’d make me come off the podium and do a demonstration!

“It was an exciting experience and a real confidence booster. I’m not sure about watching the show back but hopefully my family will be proud of me.”

See how Becky gets on in the show at 5.15pm on BBC1 tomorrow.
