PUPILS in Rastrick are cooking up an idea to celebrate their silver anniversary.

They are compiling a cookbook featuring recipes from the community and teachers past and present.

The Manufacturing and Product Design group have been tasked to oversee the commemorative cookbook.

Year 10 pupils Bradley Heywood and Sam Stubbs are leading the project and Bradley, who is acting as business manager, said: “The cookbook will be a great opportunity for us to experience a real life business task and learn about deadlines, constraints and opportunities as well as planning a realistic production schedule.

“The team would be really grateful for the community’s support.”

Family favourites and teatime treats are being sought for the 25th Anniversary cookbook.

And they want to hear from anyone with a connection to the school who can help them, ranging from local fire crew’s teatime treats to any former pupil who may have gone on to become a chef.

Anyone who can help is asked to provide a recipe name, a list of ingredients and the method used to make it.

If you want to get involved email details to jackie.monday@rastrick.calderdale.sch.uk before Friday, November 5.
