A SECOND man has been arrested over an attack a month ago which left a rugby league fan in a coma.
David Singer, who lives in Halifax, suffered serious head injuries when he was set upon outside the Halliwell Jones Stadium in Warrington on September 26.
The 32-year-old had seen Halifax play Featherstone Rovers in the Championship Grand Final, on the same day that amateur side Underbank played Warrington Wizards at the stadium.
A 29-year-old man from Pontefract was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday on suspicion of assault, police said.
He was due to be questioned later.
Earlier this month, a 26-year-old man, also from Pontefract, was arrested on suspicion of assault and violent disorder and released on bail pending further inquiries.
Mr Singer’s condition is still “critical” in hospital.
