THEY turned up in their hundreds to get close to their heroes.
And Lee Clark’s men did not disappoint.
Almost 1,000 soccer fans flocked to the home of Huddersfield Town yesterday as the club threw open its doors for a successful Open Day.
They packed into the stands to watch a full training session – ahead of Saturday’s Galpharm Stadium encounter with Walsall – and were then able to mingle with stars such as Jordan Rhodes, Gary Roberts and Peter Clarke.
Young fans, many of them in Town kit, queued patiently to have their autograph books and their shirts signed by the Town players.
Many of them also enjoyed backstage tours of the Galpharm Stadium.
They had a look at the dressing rooms used by the Town team and marvelled at the imposing collection of silverware and mementoes in the club’s trophy cabinets in the hallowed sanctum of the board room.
