Outlane lad enjoys day at fire station
LITTLE Warren Grange met his firefighting heroes at the weekend.
The three-year-old Outlane boy visited Huddersfield Fire Station with his mum Heather on Saturday.
She won the trip in a raffle of Kirklees Council staff which was held in aid of the Pakistan Flood Appeal.
Heather, 25, who works in customer service for the council, said: “My son is a big fan of Fireman Sam and wants to be a fireman when he’s older.
“We’ve been to open days here before but they get quite busy so you don’t get to see much.”
Firefighters from Red Watch demonstrated the aerial ladder platform for Sam and also let him try out the hoses.
Watch commander Andrew Fowler said: “Sometimes when kids come to the station they are a bit over-awed by everything and go quiet, but Warren’s been fine.”
