Civic reception for Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band

MEMBERS of the world-famous Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band have been honoured at a Civic Reception.

The reception at Halifax Town Hall was to recognise and celebrate the Band’s recent achievement at the Royal Albert Hall in London, when they won the title Champion Brass Band of Great Britain.

This is the eighth time in the band’s history that the prize has been brought back to their West Riding headquarters.

Band President Paul Beaumont said: “We are proud to represent Calderdale when performing at events both in the UK and abroad, and would like to thank Clr Keith Watson and his staff for taking the time and trouble to host this reception for the band.”

After the reception they performed in a Massed Bands Concert in Huddersfield Town Hall.
