‘Sex addict’ Dalton teen locked up for consensual sex with six girls has sentence cut

A TEENAGER locked up for having consensual sex with underage girls – when he was just 15 – has had his sentence slashed.
The boy, from Dalton, was originally charged with rape but later pleaded guilty to six counts of sexual activity with a child in July.
The girls were aged 13 to 15 at the time of the offences.
His pleas were accepted by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), which dropped the rape charges.
The teenager, who is now 16 and cannot be named for legal reasons, was sentenced to three years’ detention by a judge at Bradford Crown Court in August.
But Appeal Court judge Mrs Justice Dobbs yesterday reduced that sentence to a 12-month detention and training order.
It means he could be free from custody very shortly, having spent time on remand prior to the trial.
She acknowledged the boy had treated the girls as “trophies” and that the effect on them had been “horrendous” and resulted in “emotional turmoil.”
The judge added that, in all but one case, the boy used threats to deter the girls from reporting what had happened.
