A NOSTALGIC exhibition about ‘Christmas Past’ is opening at a Kirklees museum.
Red House Museum in Gomersal is launching the festive display on Sunday November 21.
It will feature rare Victorian and Edwardian Christmas cards as well as cards and novelty decorations from the 1950s and 1960s.
Old fashioned toys will also form part of the display.
Museum officer Helga Hughes said: “People will remember getting the popular David Nixon Magic Set or possibly a Bayko building set, a Lotto or a Dinky car.
We also have Escalado, a horse-racing game which was very popular in the 1950s.
“And everyone remembers getting an annual without fail every year – The Beano, Roy Rogers, Judy and Dandy can all be seen.”
The ‘Christmas Past’ exhibition runs until Sunday January 9 and admission is free.
Disabled access is limited and visitors must enter the Oxford Road building by the stairs.
