Gurmail Singh’s killers to learn fate

GURMAIL Singh’s killers will be sentenced today.
Nabeel Shafi, 18, of Park Hill, Bradley, and Muawaz Khalid, 20, of Blackmoorfoot Road, Crosland Moor, were convicted last month of the murder of the popular shopkeeper at Cowcliffe Convenience Stores, on Cowcliffe Hill Road.
They will also be sentenced for robbery, along with accomplices Umare Aslam, 20, of Coniston Avenue, Dalton, and 18-year-old Rehman Afzal, of Jacinth Court, Fartown.
Shoaib Khan, also 18 and of Calton Street, Hillhouse, will be sentenced for assisting an offender at Bradford Crown Court. Mr Singh, 63, was battered to death with wine bottles during a bungled robbery at his store on February 20.
