Huddersfield to Leeds train line delays after Mirfield signal fault - latest
Nov 26 2010 By Andrew Jackson
TRAIN passengers faced delays through most of today after a signalling fault between Huddersfield and Leeds.
National Rail were alerted to the problem in the morning rush hour around 8am but were unable to fix the problem at Heaton Lodge near Mirfield until midafternoon.
A spokesman said there was a problem with the power supply to the track circuit
The track circuit is the piece of equipment which detects where trains are and lets the signaller 'see' them on their screen and are vital to the safe running of the railways.
