Huddersfield accountants to stage carol concert

A CAROL concert for businesses in Huddersfield town centre is going ahead as planned.

Edward Lee, president of the Huddersfield & District Society of Chartered Accountants, said the concert would take place at 1pm on Wednesday, December 15, at Huddersfield Parish Church.

This is despite other events being cancelled because of building work at the church.

Mr Lee said: “This ever-popular lunchtime festive treat will have added extras this year – as we are delighted to welcome members of Huddersfield Choral Society and the Marsden Silver Prize Band who will support the congregation in the traditional carols and also perform a number of solo pieces.”

The service, led by the Rev Matthew Pollard, will include carols, band and choir performances and readings by invited guests. It will be attended the Mayor of Kirklees, Clr Andrew Palfreeman.

A collection will be held for Kirkwood Hospice.
