REPORTS of crime have decreased in the last six weeks.
Police officers in Calderdale’s Lower Valley said they had 37 fewer reports of crime and anti-social behaviour.
They were comparing the figures over the last six weeks to the same period last year for the Hipperholme and Lightcliffe ward.
Sgt Dean Maddocks revealed that there were 51 crimes reported in the ward area, which was 37 fewer reports compared with last year.
Of those crimes, 28 incidents were of anti-social behaviour, which was down by 21 compared with last year.
Sgt Maddocks said: “Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team and across Calderdale are working hard to keep these levels as low as possible.
“It is the support of the local community which helps most to make this a safer place to live, work and study,” added Sgt Maddocks.
