Broken train at Huddersfield disrupts rail network for over two hours

A BROKEN down train in Huddersfield caused disruption across the rail network yesterday morning.

Trains between Manchester Victoria, Manchester Piccadilly and Leeds were delayed by up to 50 minutes and other trains were cancelled. Trains between Huddersfield and Marsden were replaced by buses after the train broke down before 9am. Commuters from Manchester Victoria, Manchester Piccadilly, Stalybridge, Huddersfield, Dewsbury and Leeds were affected. Network Rail said the problem was rectified by 11am.
