Woman 'lucky to be alive' after flat blaze
A WOMAN is lucky to be alive today after a flat blaze in Kirklees.
The casualty in her late 40s was asleep in her bedroom in the flat on William Street, Dewsbury, when the fire broke out in the living-room at 12.30am today.
The fire was so intense the flames were shooting out of the window when firefighters arrived.
They carried her from the burning flat and she was taken to Dewsbury District Hospital.
