Huddersfield men jailed for breaking £230,000 of stolen cars

A PAIR involved in breaking £230,000 of stolen cars for spare parts have been jailed.

Samuel Hanson, 27, of Woodside Road, Beaumont Park, broke up sports and prestige cars stolen in ‘Hanoi’ burglaries across West Yorkshire between December, 2008 and September, 2009.

His friend Aaron Barber, 25, of Linfit Fold, Linthwaite, allowed Hanson use of his van and two industrial units he had rented at Bankgate Mills, Slaithwaite, Bradford Crown Court heard yesterday.

Barber, a joiner, had initially rented the units to repair cars as a hobby, said Bashir Ahmed prosecuting.

But he had helped and taken payment in kind from Hanson for transporting and storing the cars and parts despite knowing they were stolen, Mr Ahmed said.
