A WOMAN was glassed in the face – three weeks before her wedding.
And a Huddersfield Giants player is being quizzed on suspicion of assault.
Greg Johnson, 20, a winger in the Super League squad for the current season, was arrested over the alleged attack on Belinda Coldwell.
She spent hours in hospital after the early-hours attack at a Huddersfield bar on Sunday and there were initially fears for the sight in her left eye.
She saw a specialist yesterday and has been told she may need an operation to repair damage – a move which could mean she is unable to go on honeymoon.
It is a real blow to Miss Coldwell, who is also worried that the stitches and bruising will be visible when she marries fiance Chris Kelly on March 5.
The pair were out with friends at the weekend when Miss Coldwell, 26 today, was hurt.
Miss Coldwell, of Crosland Moor, who is a receptionist at an accountancy firm, has been going out with Chris for six years and they were at a leaving party for his cousin.
