HUNDREDS of villagers were wowed by a French stilts show last night.
Families jammed on to Peel Street in Marsden to see five ghostly white figures from the Compagnie des Quidams theatre group.
The crowd of hundreds applauded as the stilts artists wandered among them from 7.20pm last night.
The performers inflated their white balloon suits until each of them resembled a Michelin man.
Alistair Macdonald, 40, was impressed with the show.
The Marsden man said: “It was great. We go to the Festival of Light every year and we were expecting something strange. We weren’t disappointed.”
Alistair attended last night’s performance with his mother Barbara Macdonald, 74, his partner Lis Boulton, 38, and their children Finn, 10, and seven-year-old Mia.
Alistair added: “I think Marsden has so many events like this because the village attracts a wide mix of creative people.”
Sheila Capewell of Milnsbridge was also among the crowd at last night’s show.
