Guinness, green hats and great craic at St Patrick’s Day Parade in Huddersfield
HUDDERSFIELD’S streets became a mass of green, Guinness and ceilidh at the St Patrick’s Day Parade yesterday.
Bright sunshine brought in crowds who lined the town centre streets in green clothing to watch the parade which celebrates Irish culture in Huddersfield and beyond.
The 11th annual parade featured 10 vibrant musical groups, 10 decoratively themed floats and 10 humorous street artists.
Among the highlights were Limerick City Pipe and Drum band and Celtic Roots Ceili Band from Wexford.
Local acts included Samba, Giants Causeway Rock band, Frumptarn Guggenband, Marsden Brass Band and an array of Irish acts including traditional and modern musicians.
