Man stabbed, three held after 20-man brawl at Mymou in Huddersfield town centre

THREE men were arrested after another man was stabbed in a mass brawl at a town centre bar.

Police said about 20 people were involved in the fight at Mymou on Queen Street, Huddersfield, in the early hours of yesterday.

Men aged 17, 18 and 26 were arrested after a 32-year-old man was stabbed in the leg between 3am and 4am.

Officers said the fight started inside before spilling out on to the street.

Today Mymou’s bosses insisted their security measures were as strict as possible.

Managing director Thamar Monet said: “Mymou is a family-run business and we pride ourselves on our diversity.

“We have been operating for five years now doing a job we adore in a town we love.”

The incident is believed to have started in the bar’s smoking area shortly after 3am.

Ms Monet’s husband, Hugh Pryce, who runs the bar, was told by door staff that a fight had broken out but all those involved had left.

She said: “Outside of our venue, sitting on the floor, was a man, unknown to us, who appeared to be injured.

“Hugh called for an ambulance from his phone immediately and asked for the police to come as there seemed to be two young men wanting to argue with the man sitting on the floor.
