Video: Police ‘capture car’ films Huddersfield Town match day break-in

SMASH-AND-GRAB car criminals have been warned by police: we’re watching you.

A West Yorkshire Police ‘capture car’ is currently being used on the streets of Kirklees to catch thieves who break in to snatch valuables.

The vehicle is fitted with hidden cameras to film criminals targeting cars.

A video of one such incident – from which this still image was taken – can now be watched at www.examiner.co.uk.

It shows a pair of hooded thieves walking up to the capture car, which was parked on Red Doles Lane in Bradley Mills.

One uses a glass hammer to smash the front window before his accomplice reaches in to grab the sat-nav system from the windscreen.

The incident happened during Huddersfield Town’s last home match against Notts County at the Galpharm Stadium on Sunday, March 27.
