CYBER-bullying and internet safety were discussed when police visited a Huddersfield school.
Pcs Sally Baines and Paul Jackson, from Kirkburton and Denby Dale Neighbourhood Policing Team, visited Shelley College for a personal health and social education day.
They talked to pupils about staying safe on the streets and online and warned them about the dangers of getting involved in cyber-bullying.
Comments made online that could be construed as bullying can lead to people being arrested and cautioned.
Pc Baines said: “Problems with social networking sites such as Facebook are on the increase and we hope that the event will raise awareness amongst pupils on how to handle 'cyber bullying'.
"Also, a lot of teenagers don't realise the risks around giving out too much information about themselves, and we hope that the event highlighted these dangers."
