Gavin and Stacey star Corden gets apology from Star Trek and X-Men supremo Sir Patrick Stewart over awards bust-up

HOLLYWOOD star Sir Patrick Stewart has apologised for his on-stage row with James Corden, it is claimed.

The Mirfield-born actor and X-Men star has offered the apology for lashing out at the TV star and comedian, blaming it on alcohol.

In an interview to be broadcast next month, Sir Patrick says sorry for the comments he made at last years Glamour Women of the Year Awards.

The newly-knighted actor became caught up in a verbal tussle with comedian and awards host Corden and the insults turned quite nasty.

Now Sir Patrick who is Chancellor of the University of Huddersfield - has told Classic FMs Nick Ferrari in an interview to be broadcast on May 1: My part of the evening came late and it was alcohol, Im afraid.

I went too far, I was somewhat out of control.

I have nothing but admiration for Mr Corden. I still blush in remembrance of it, he added.
