But Jay, currently studying for his A-levels in physics, chemistry, maths and further maths initially had to turn down the offer.
He said: “I’d had an amazing experience last time. I really enjoyed the spectacle of the shows and it was different to what I’d done before.
“I must have made an impression on the right people and it was a real honour to be asked to go to China twice.
“But while it was a great opportunity, I couldn’t miss two months of college as I’ll only get one chance to do my A-levels now.
“Then I got a phone call asking me to go and join them for three weeks at the end of the tour in Shanghai.
“I’m very lucky because I’ll get to take part in the big blowout performance at the end – and see a bit more of China than I did last time.”
Jay is now looking forward to showing off his trademark moves again in a brand new performance which he and his fellow actors will stage 35 times.
“I have so much respect for people like Daniel Craig and Helen Mirren who have come out of the National Youth Theatre and I will certainly do my best to do as well as them,” he said.
