CHURCHES in the Holme Valley have organised a special trail during Holy Week.
They are marking the passion and death of Jesus Christ with a church trail open from 11am to 4pm every day from next Monday to Good Fridayand additionally from 7pm to 9pm on Wednesday.
The nine Church of England and Methodist churches in Thurstonland, Holmbridge, Hepworth, Holmfirth, New Mill, Thongsbridge, Netherthong and Upperthong will open their doors daily with interactive and sensory displays based on the stories in the Bible.
There will also be daily story-telling for children and families in Holmfirth Parish Church at 11am, with a workshop and lunch to follow on Good Friday.
All Saints’ Church, Netherthong, will host light lunches each day from noon to 2pm, as will St David’s, Holmbridge, on Wednesday April 20.
The Trail will close at 7.30pm on Good Friday with a performance at Christ Church, New Mill.
