Family fun day at the Royal Oak at Paddock in memory of cancer victim Susan McMann
A BROTHER is holding a fun day to raise funds in memory of his late sister.
Susan McMann, of New Hey Road in Oakes, died of breast cancer aged 46 last May.
Her brother Graham Armitage, 44, is holding a charity fun day at the Royal Oak in Paddock in her memory.
The event on Easter Sunday will raise money for Kirkwood Hospice, where Susan spent the last week of her life, and Holly Bank School in Mirfield where she worked as a classroom assistant for 26 years.
Graham, of New Hey Road in Oakes, said: “Susan would be chuffed to know that we’re raising money for these two good causes in memory of her.”
The charity event begins at Royds Hall School playing fields at 11.30am with an over 30s versus under 30s football game.
From 1pm the fundraisers will move to the Royal Oak where there will be face-painting, a bouncy castle and an Easter egg hunt.
The fun continues in the evening with a disco and auction.
Graham said: “My sister enjoyed going to the Royal Oak and she had her last good day out there.”
