A FANTASY epic hit the nation’s TV screens last night.
And there is a double Huddersfield connection behind the stunning Game of Thrones.
Shelley actress Lena Headey is starring alongside Sean Bean and Mark Addy in the new Sky medieval fantasy series.
And a key man behind the scenes is Newsome’s Buster Reeves.
He has taken on the role of stunt co-ordinator for the series and has produced some memorable battle scenes.
He worked with many of the cast on location to create the fight scenes.
Buster had to teach the cast to attack each other with real aggression, so the sequences needed to be carefully choreographed.
Each fight was carefully drawn on paper before the actors were handed their swords and asked to play it out for real.
Buster said: “It’s a bit intimidating having 12 stunt guys coming at you with axes and swords and with blood all over their faces, but they all did well.”
Some of the filming was done in Northern Ireland but many scenes were shot in Malta.
Castle Black, one of the key settings, was built in a disused quarry in County Antrim.
