Hairy Bikers visit Vanilla Bean

DOZENS of people met TV stars in a village.

Dave Myers and Si King – better known as the motorcycling chefs the Hairy Bikers – called in on Slaithwaite yesterday afternoon.

The pair are filming an hour-long programme for Hairy Meals On Wheels, a four-part production for BBC2 due to be screened this autumn.

They met dozens of villagers outside the Vanilla Bean coffee shop on Carr Lane around 2.45pm.

The bikers were filmed by the BBC selling T-shirts for a mystery charity.

Jenny Parkin, 36, of Slaithwaite, was among the crowd yesterday.

“There was a real buzz of excitement around the Vanilla Bean,” she said.

“The two of them came roaring up on their bikes, just like they do on the telly.

“They were absolutely lovely and they had time for everyone.

“There were scores of people there in the sunshine.”

TV producers are tight-lipped about the exact nature of the planned programme.

The Hairy Bikers started their visit when they called in at Titanic Mill in Linthwaite on April 13 and have been all over the Colne Valley filming ever since.
