FAMILIES have been invited to a joint celebration of Easter and St George’s Day.
The Horseboating Society has organised the fun day at Standedge Tunnel Visitor Centre in Marsden. Morris dancing group the Thieving Magpies will provide entertainment at this afternoon’s event. Volunteers will leg a boat through the tunnel from Diggle, expecting to arrive in Marsden at 3.30pm. The Horseboating Society is also holding an event on May Day Bank Holiday where visitors can learn about the traditional pack-horse which used to carry loads over the Pennines.
