PEOPLE of different faiths and backgrounds got together for a game of cricket at Paddock over the Easter weekend.

The Cohesion Through Cricket event involved members of the Huddersfield Interfaith Council and Paddock Cricket Club.

The sports event was designed to help people from various different backgrounds make new friendships.

Kiran Bali, chairman of the Interfaith Council, said: “As people of faith reaching out to the community, we enhance understanding and respect between different ethnic, cultural and religious groups.

“Sport is an important and fun channel towards incorporating values such as acceptance and solidarity within society.”
