Injured motorcyclist, 17, still critical in hospital
A TEENAGE motorcyclist hurt in an accident in Crosland Moor remained “critically ill” in hospital last night.
The 17-year-old youth, from Crosland Moor, suffered serious head injuries in the incident in Blackmoorfoot Road on Saturday evening.
A relative said he had come off his motorcycle having braked while riding down Blackmoorfoot Road.
He hit some parked cars and then apparently slid beneath a Ford Transit van which was driving up the hill, having turned into Blackmoorfoot Road from Ivy Street.
The accident happened shortly after 6pm close to the former St Luke’s Hospital site.
Police closed the road for more than three hours as they investigated the incident.
The injured rider is detained in the intensive care unit at Leeds General Infirmary.
Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them on 0845 6060606.
